THE SIMPLE FACTSTM... According to research and statistics compiled by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), there were approximately 4,750,000 people injured in passenger vehicles involving cars, trucks, 16 passenger vans and Sport Utility Vehicles (SUVS) in the United States between 2005 and 2006.
In 2005 alone, statistics show that over 39,250 people were killed in passenger vehicle - cars, light trucks, vans and sport utility vehicles (SUV). In 2006 alone, statistics show that over 38,640 people were killed in passenger vehicle - cars, light trucks, vans and sport utility vehicles (SUV) - related accidents. In 2007 alone, statistics show that over 37,245 people were killed in passenger vehicle - auto, cars, light trucks, vans and sport utility vehicles (SUV) - related accidents. The numbers and claims above are not encouraging.
It has been documented and statistics show that half of all crashes in 2007 occurred on roads with posted speed limits of 55 mph or more, as compared with 23 percent of injury and property-damage-only crashes. As more and more passenger vehicles are put on our nation’s highways, the statistics of being injured in a passenger vehicle or rollover may increase.

In 2006 alone, statistics show that over 10,500 people were killed in rollover related accidents. For example, statistics show that 15/16 passenger vans between 1994 and 2004, were involved in over 1,500 fatal crashes (data from NTSB).
In 2004 alone, statistics show that 120 occupants of 15-passenger vans died in crashes involving these vehicles. A major problem associated with these unfortunate accidents is attributable to the under inflation of the tires which can lead to higher tire temperatures, faster tire deterioration, and diminished driving stability. These types of auto/car accidents can be prevented.
